Lesson 18

Tablets for Textbooks in school

This lesson talks about the instructional materials to be use in school if it is a book or a tablet? In this situation a lot of things will be discuss if what will be more effective instructional materials. Of course the primary medium of instruction in most school is the book but it has a disadvantage in a book for school-graders, the load of books and workbooks for every subject are backbreaking due to their weight and size. The errors in public school textbooks have also been exposed, errors resulting from wrong information, technical mistakes and editorial lapses. In this time the De La Salle school support by way of customized Tablet designs that are conducive to higher thinking, constructive and participative teaching and learning. Developing software using the tablet will entail participation of teachers who will have to be trained in preparing interactive graphically-rich and effective learning modules.
As what I observed that books and tablets have a different characteristics as now I didn’t experienced yet that the instructional materials use is the tablet but then if time comes this is a great opportunity for me because I will practice my skill and have already a knowledge about it because it is already a 21st century.
Nowadays, both books and tablets are important it has a different characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. In this point of view that I already know the different function on the said instructional materials but it refers in different way of easy access. For me it is a great opportunity to have a tablet as an instructional material so that it gives a higher thinking, constructive and participative teaching and learning process but then again book also has a true information that we can get from the book.
As a future educator, I will use both book and tablet as my instructional materials so that  the focus of the learner will not divided and it should be fix and no doubt.
